Yo Ho Ho
Made-easy notes for beginning pianists, Yo Ho Ho is a fun song that's easy to sing.
No, this is NOT a free version of "Yo Ho a Pirate's Life for Me" - for that copyrighted music from Pirates of the Caribbean, you will have to go here to buy a digital download or (more expensive but ultimately more rewarding) here to buy a songbook !
Instead, this is a FREE song about LIFE AT SEA I'm offering for several levels: a solo with chords in both hands, and an early Middle C note reader version in which the hands share the melody.
Additionally, there are easy versions of the piano music with made-easy notes, for your young beginners (or hesitant first and second year students).

If your students have been learning how to make chords, triad and open, then the first and third lines of this song will be very easy for them!
Once they hear the big sounds they are making, they will be motivated to push themselves on the sections that are not so easy. As they are playing (I would split it up and take one of the parts, first few attempts), ask them if they recognize the chords...

Oops. I caught that error earlier today, and repaired the PDF music sheets, but I'm going to let the graphics stay as they are... Those graphics should've said,"D.C. al Fine."
There is a certain demographic group that will appreciate a piece like this.
The first day I tried it out on students, two little boys lapped it up with the comment "COOL!", whereas two girls, a bit older, passed it over in favor of an arrangement of Minka.
